This view of the castle is taken from a tiny channel leading from Py to the " Col de Fins" going past Thorent. This picture was taken after the first renovation of the castle. The round tower doesn't have its sharp roof, which was down in the late XIXth century. One can note the absence of all the trees that nowadays are surrounding the building.

Hereunder we can see ,at the front, houses from the village ("Hameau de Thorent") and the castle in the distance. The lack of vegetation is even more noticeable . Chestnut trees have then been planted as long as Pines, Cedars from the Atlas and Lebanon, some of which are now quite huge. Recently from 1996 until 1999, in amont of the castle, have been introduced 10 hectares of wild cherry trees, ash trees, red oaks, mulberry trees, maple trees among other species.
